The Day We Were Married

THE PRIEST SAID "STAND UP TOM, AND DRY UP YOUR TEARS, YOU'RE GOING TO BE MARRIED FOR 55 YEARS!"
"HOLD ON NOW FATHER, THAT'S A MIGHTY LONG TIME," AND MARGARET THEN WHISPERED, "HE'S GOING TO BE MINE!"

THE SNOW WAS NOW FALLING AS WE WALKED UP THE AISLE, St. JOHN the BAPTIST IN BLACKROCK WHERE WE TURNED ON THE STYLE.
THE CEREMONY NOW ENDED TO THE CROFTON WE WENT, TURKEY, HAM FOR THE DINNER, ALL FELT QUITE CONTENT.

THEN OFF TO SCOTLAND FOR OUR HONEYMOON WE DID GO, WHAT DID WE FIND THERE WAS TWO FEET OF SNOW.
MARGARET WENT SHOPPING AND BOUGHT HERSELF BOOTS, THE SNOW WAS SO DEEP, WENT IN OVER THE TOP.

WE COULD HAVE WENT TO MADRID, ROME OR BOMBAY, BUT MY DEVIOUS PLAN WAS TO SEE CELTIC PLAY.
THE GAME V RANGERS ON FIRST DAY OF THE YEAR, IT WAS QUITE A DISASTER, WE WERE BEATEN FOUR NIL.

FIFTY FIVE YEAR'S LATER I'VE A CONFESSION TO MAKE, I WENT FOR THE FOOTBALL, NOT FOR MY WIFE'S SAKE.
THEN IN THE MEANTIME WE HAD SIX OF THE BEST, THEY WERE REALLY GREAT CHILDREN, YOU KNOW ALL THE REST..
